Shelley has always been a very friendly and very understanding person, but she also has a tendency to be a bit paranoid and jump at serious situations. She has always wanted to be a counselor and spends her time trying to make herself better, but when things get to be too much for her, she has been known to lock herself in her quarters and have a nice emotional breakdown.
Physical Description
At 5'7", she's not exactly tall, but she's on the tall side for a woman and she cares about what other people think about her. She has brown hair and brown eyes, and keeps her uniform fresh and pressed at all times. She wears combat boots just in case and only pulls her hair back when something is bothering her.
Psychological Profile
Shelley has always been prone to panic attacks, but she wanted to make sure that she could help others who had similar problems that they wanted to control. She has always been friendly and understanding, but she has been known to remove herself from a truly emotional situation if she finds that she cannot handle it. Mostly, she has always wanted to help people and it hurts her when others are in pain...that doesn't stop her from spending the majority of her off time by herself, though, taking herself away from other's problems.

History
Shelley was born on Earth and spent the majority of her time trying to get her younger siblings to get along with each other, being the eldest child and feeling like she had to have some ounce of control. She grew up feeling loved and taken care of, but a lot of the time she only found peace when she was on her own and vowed to not have any children...or at least not any more than one. Knowing how well she was at handling other people's problem and finding logical solutions, her parents pointed her in the direction of Starfleet Academy.
Once she was 17, Shelley joined Starfleet Academy and dove right into her studies, graduating head of her class and taking her skills directly to a posting on the USS Karsek. She was treated with respect and made some friends, but she still found that she enjoyed being on her own a lot and when her best friend was transferring to Starbase 12, she transferred too. Shelley spent a lot of time doing her job and figuring out some new hobbies, opening up until the accident, where she shut her emotions down and instead focused on work. Unfortunately, her panic attacks have been worse since then, and she hasn't found a way to make them better yet.
