Sorren Gan had been in starfleet as a medical officer for many years, and this was his fifth aboard Starbase 12. He knew most of the crew that had been there for any amount of time and always liked meeting the new crew members. He worked hand in hand with his captain, and enjoyed sharing the work load. The medicine came to him naturally, but he really just enjoyed talking to the people he met.

Physical Description

Sorren keeps his brown hair cropped short in accordance to Starfleet regulation. He knew he wouldn't be questioned if he grew it out, but he enjoyed it where it was. As most Bajorans, he had six ridges along his nose and wore the common Bajoran earring in his right ear. For a part of the medical staff, Sorren is physically fit beyond the norm. He prides himself on staying in shape just in case.

When he is on duty, Sorren keeps his uniform pressed and as close to perfect as he can manage it. Due to his job, this doesn't always stay true, but he does his best with what he can when he can. Off duty, he wore casual clothing from his human influences. He enjoyed jeans and dress shirts or just regular t-shirts.

Psychological Profile

As a Bajoran with his youth behind him, Sorren had left a lot of his recklessness behind him. He had tried to evolve psychologically when he became a doctor, but at times he could still be carelessly blunt. He was calculated but always warm with his patients, knowing somewhat what they wanted to hear but also willing to tell them flat out what they needed to hear. It was what made him a good doctor, but occasionally momentarily disliked.

As far as his personal life went, Sorren knew that his job would always require him to be there first instead of at home with his possible significant other. So he kept his relationships light, even though he was willing to commit to something, he needed someone who would understand that if there was an emergency, he wouldn't be around for comfort of some kind. He enjoyed his working relationships enough not to worry about pursuing a long-term relationship. Sometimes he would even harmlessly flirt with Lilly. She seemed to enjoy it, and it was all for harmless fun. They hadn't worked together for a very long time yet, but he needed a way to deal with the accident that had happened, so he found ways around it.

For his position as CMO, he knew that the command aspect would cause him some troubles. He wasn't a natural born leader, so he had been learning for the past year or two as best as he could to take the lessons in command from their former CO who had been promoted. But as a leader, Sorren tried to be strict, adhering to the regulations and rules as best as he could. Sometimes one needed to make a call, and he was willing to make the sacrifices leaders needed to make to succeed.

After the accident, as the new CO he treated everything more or less the same, save for now he didn't have any medical duties to perform. Running the meetings was certainly a new experience, for him and for the officers he had to jump up our slide over to make everything work. He had sent a call out for more marines to Starfleet, but they hadn't quite come in yet so he was still a little understaffed. But things seemed to be working out for now, even if no one quite knew what they were doing yet.

History

Sorran Gan was born in 2370 to his blissfully happy parents in the city of Ilvia on Bajor. He grew up as a rowdy child, often causing trouble for others or getting into a heap of it all on his own. But after he came of age, he buckled down and commited to his goals. At first he thought he wanted to join the Church, hear the wisdom of the Prophets and even one day he might even aspire to be Kai. But on a trip to an outlier colony, he caught a rather unpleasant virus. If not for the medical staff on board the Bandor, he might not have made. In a great show of respect for them, as a young and still reckless man, he decided to join Starfleet.

His first assignment was aboard a Cheyenne class vessel, he couldn't even remember the name of her very well anymore. The Icarus or Acatian or something like that. His time aboard her was very short before he was called to serve aboard his first starbase. He was assigned to Starbase 9 after just a few weeks on the Cheyenne. After a few years, he heard about the Shrangi Incident and he was transferred yet again, but this time to Starbase 12. He enjoyed the work as a part of the medical personnel and had been here ever since.
