Desi is very quiet and reserved most the time. She keeps to herself a lot, spending her off time in the holadeck, so most people believe that she is sweet and shy. Most of the time she is but if someone crosses her or those she loves, she will lash out and fight. She hardly ever get upset outwardly. She has some combat training and loves studying medicine.

Physical Description

Desi walks upright most of the time. She 'always' covers her smile and laugh with her hands, except when she's with her patients. Her hair is usually up in a ponytail. She tries to look as professional as possible when on the job. When off work she likes to lounge in jeans and tshirts. She has a very athletic build.

Psychological Profile

Desi stays very professional even when off duty with her peers. Most people say she is either stuck up or has her head in the science books. The people that know her, know she is just reserved with who she gets close to because of her past. She can stay strong and stoic during a tragedy/war but once it's over and she's alone, she'll break down.

History

Desi Druids was born and abandoned on Earth by her Trill mother on January 15th, 2371. She was in several foster homes until she came to live with Sophia Dixon, Persephone's aunt. It was through her she met Persephone and the other Dixons. She became very close to the whole family, especially Persephone who became an older sister to her.

Right away she knew she was smarter than the other kids around her because if she read anything, she never had to read it again. If she saw anything, it was forever engrained in her brain. This was also when she realized she was very different and how the other kids shunned her. Most people were fine with other species being around but the kids in school were cruel and Desi learned at a young age that she wasn't just different intelligence wise but also on the outside. She learned to escape through her books.

She got involved in the medical field right out of high school and it was Persephone, with her father help, who got Desi into Starfleet Acadamy. It was there she met who she thought was the love of her life, Marcus. Marcus was everything she wanted; he didn't care about her spots or what made her different. It wasn't until Marcus became very possessive that she decided to volunteer on space missions, although when he found out, Marcus put her in the hospital. That prompted Persephone to again get her father involved and after Desi recovered, stationed her on Starbase 21.

From there, she learned more and more and decided she wanted to be a doctor. After the Shrangi Incident, she was noticed more by her fellow scientist, and praised for her ability to rise above during the chaos. She became very good at ignoring feelings as things went on around her. When things ended on that front, she went to be with Persephone while she healed from her own battle wounds. She was with her for two years before going off the grid.

She jumped around from place to place for another two years, working in colonies, honing her skills on science freighters and visiting Sophia once in a while. It was Persephone that told her there was an opening on Starbase 12 and Desi had decided she was ready for some quiet living.....
